What is outsourcing?

Outsourcing is having typing performed outside of the workplace by a service provider. This is mainly in the form of typing of clinic letters, discharge summaries, ward rounds, medical reports, referral letters, tertiary referrals etc.

Who would use this service?

NHS trusts, private hospitals, PCT's, independent GP's, larger GP practices, occupational health, medico legal concerns etc.

How do I find a good service provider?

Finding the right service provider can be time consuming and confusing. To avoid this, all you have to do is enlist our help. You discuss your needs with us and we research all the providers on your behalf. Quotes are obtained, collated and returned for your consideration, which allows you to make an informed decision.

Why should I use Ridings Secretarial Service?

What equipment will I need?

All you will need is a digital dictaphone and an Internet connection. You may also require the small addition of a transcription kit.

How does it work?

The development of digital dictation allows users to transfer data through our secure server directly to your chosen provider. Doctors dictate their work using a digital dictaphone creating a digital sound file.

This sound file is simply up loaded to our secure server where it is delivered to your chosen provider for transcription.

As the typist transcribes the sound file, a word document is created which is directed back via the server to the original sender.

Who is available to support me?

Full training is provided by Ridings Secretarial Service if required and help is always available. Customer care is very important to us, which is why Ridings Secretarial provides clients with ongoing support. We are also backed up by our technical support team who are on hand to answer any queries via the support link on the contacts page.

How can I be assured of confidentiality?

Ridings Secretarial Service is registered with the Information Commissioner for Data Protection and it vehemently adheres to the eight principles of the data protection act 1998 and the further amendments made regarding transfer of personal data in 2000. Caldicott guidelines are also taken into consideration. Further details are available upon request.

What about security?

All data transferred through the Ridings Transfer System is handled with 128bit SSL encryption, ensuring no interceptions can compromise confidentiality. Our trading status is confirmed through the SSL certifcation displayed online. Our transfer system is only available to our members and is username and password protected
